New generation Electric Arc Furnaces
The potential for full automation of the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) is explored in this paper, by means of a description of key technologies. These technologies include robotics and non-contact sensors that act individually and in combination, to improve process consistency and productivity, while reducing operating costs.
