Metal powder production for additive manufacturing at SMS

SMS has designed, built and commissioned a powder atomisation plant at the SMS group facilities in Mönchengladbach. The facility is an industrial scale demonstration plant and will form part of a new Demostration Centre for use by SMS and its customers. The objective is to offer SMS customers complete Additive Manufacturing plants on a turnkey basis, by integrating the entire process chain from powder production through to the finished products while ensuring production at a high, reproducible quality level with minimum costs. Customers will receive modular, scalable solutions tailored to their individual requirements.
