Jai Raj Ispat completes PG test for advanced rebar mill in India

MIDA QLP endless casting-rolling technology ensures efficient rebar production

Danieli successfully completed the Performance Guarantee (PG) test for the 350,000-tpy mill for thermomechanically treated – TMT at Jai Raj Ispat Limited, located in the Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The test was finalized just two months after production startup.

This is the first plant in India to implement MIDA QLP – Quality Long Product – technology, featuring a compact, continuous layout that integrates ladle refining furnace, continuous casting machine, induction heater, and high-speed rolling mill in an endless casting-rolling configuration.

The MIDA QLP process enables direct conversion of liquid steel into finished TMT bars in a single, energy-efficient sequence. This minimizes thermal losses and intermediate handling, reduces energy consumption, and improves metallurgical consistency.

Thanks to this configuration, Jai Raj Ispat can produce high-quality TMT rebars with lower environmental impact and reduced operational costs.
