Boosting productivity and quality in stainless steelmaking with an AOD converter
In mid 2015, SIJ Acroni, Slovenia, placed an order with Primetals Technologies to supply a new 95t AOD converter and a new dedusting system for their plant at Jesenice. The new equipment started production in April 2017, increasing annual liquid steel production capacity by about 35% to 530k t/yr while at the same time lowering production costs and reducing emissions.
