5 million tons of top-quality, special steel slabs produced at voestalpine Stahl, on a Danieli supplied casting machine

In 2015 voestalpine decided to invest in a new benchmark slab caster to replace the existing CC3 caster, which was reaching its lifetime operational limit. For the first time in Linz, Danieli was chosen as the technology supplier. This was because of the comprehensive technology packages that could guarantee competitive production of crack-sensitive steel grades, predominantly for automotive and electrical applications.
