Xinyu Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. chooses KOCKS RSB® as core technology for their new SBQ bar mill line
The Chinese special steel producer Xinyu Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. known as XISCO, has signed a contract with Friedrich KOCKS GmbH & Co. KG for the supply of a RSB® 370++/4 in 5.0 design. The Reducing & Sizing Block will be part of the company’s new rolling mill complex in Xinyu City, China.
XISCO is a subsidiary of Baosteel group, the world’s largest steel producer, with about 120 million tons annual production. Through further acquisitions, this output shall be increased to about 200 million tons per year by 2025. With over 32,000 employees, XISCO accounts for 10 million tons of specialty steels per year and is the industrial backbone of Jiangxi Province.
In XISCO’s new rolling mill, a KOCKS 3-roll RSB® will master the balancing act between the highest possible quality and best economic results. The new RSB® 370++/4 will be located as finishing block after 22 stands in H/V arrangement in a 560.000t/a SBQ mill and has been designed according the individual requirements of XISCO. It will produce straight bars within a finished size range of Ø 20.00 to 90.00 mm with the highest dimensional tolerance onto the cooling bed. The scope of supply further includes the remote control for stand and guide adjustments, the equipment for the roll-shop and KOCKS proprietary software solutions. The commissioning of the RSB® is scheduled for the end of 2023.
