M-one injection technology upgrading improve performances at Ezz Flat Steel, Egypt

EZZ FLAT STEEL located in Ain Sokhna (Suez Governorate, Egypt) is a fully integrated steel plant. It includes a Direct Reduced Iron plant (DRI) and a 185-ton Electric Arc Furnace with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons of rebar and hot rolled coil.

The upgrading with the M-ONE injection technology has improved the overall EAF performances in terms of:

  • electrical energy consumption decrease (-30 kWh/t)
  • power-on time decrease (-3 minutes)
  • productivity increase (+ 6 t/hr)
  • electrode consumption decrease (- 20% )
